One of our signature elixirs at The Pittsburgh Juice Company (PJC) is the Immunity Fireball. This elixir gets its name from both its function and its fiery taste. Each ingredient in the Immunity Fireball is jam-packed with health benefits. The base of the elixir is fresh, organic cold-pressed orange juice. One Immunity Fireball contains 120% of recommended daily Vitamin C intake, which is essential for a healthy immune system. It also stimulates the production and function of white blood cells, which help fight bacteria and viruses, reducing your chances of getting sick.
Vitamin C isn’t the only thing the Immunity Fireball has to offer. It also contains a blend of roots and spices such as: turmeric, oil of oregano, and cayenne. This blend is powerful due to its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Cayenne possesses a high concentration of a substance called capsaicin, which is known for its pain-relief and decongestant properties; as well as its ability to lower the risk of heart attack and ulcers.
Turmeric acts as a powerful healing ingredient because of the phytochemicals it contains. The main phytochemical in turmeric is curcumin. Research shows that curcumin provides anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial health effects. The benefits of turmeric and ginger are quite similar, because turmeric is actually a perennial root plant of the ginger family. Ginger has been used for thousands of years for the treatment of numerous ailments, such as colds, nausea, arthritis, migraines, and hypertension. One of the many health claims attributed to ginger is its ability to decrease inflammation, swelling, and pain, while the most common and well established use of ginger is to settle the stomach when faced with nausea and vomiting.
The remaining ingredients, oil of oregano and colloidal silver, are added for an extra punch of healing properties. While oregano oil may have a strong taste, its benefits are even stronger. Oregano oil is shown to have such powerful antibacterial properties, that it fights against multi-resistant bacteria. Colloidal silver has been known to have low toxicity in the human body and only a small amount is present in our elixir. Silver is added for its anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal properties, and because it is often tolerated by those who may experience antibiotic resistance or allergies.
In summary, the Immunity Fireball is a great way to help keep your immune system functioning at its optimal capacity. While every human body is different, we believe the nutrients found in our ingredients can be used for their healing properties. Since PJC juices are cold-pressed and raw, they are the most nutrient-dense product available. While we can’t guarantee the Immunity Fireball will cure you of illness, we can provide you with the science behind the nutritive value of the ingredients in our carefully-crafted elixir.
